WinterGuard practice for Feb. 26 performance

The Ignacio WinterGuard’s Junior Cadets practice a routine set to music, “in a matter of hours, what other groups take months to prepare for.” Said Gabriel Garcia who flew in from Rhode Island to teach the Winter Guard a routine they will perform live on Friday, Feb. 26. The WinterGuard range in ages from 4-18 years.

The La Plata County Independent Youth Performing Arts will host a WinterGuard performance this Friday, Feb. 26 at the ELHI building. Gabriel Garcia has worked two-three days with the cadets in preparation for the performance. The cadets range in ages from Mini-Cadets, ages 4-7; Junior Cadets, ages 8-10; Cadets, 11-13 and High School Cadets, ages 14-18; and even instructors 18 and older.
