On July 14, 2015, Road Runner Stage Lines (RRSL) completes one full year of service linking Southwest Colorado communities with Grand Junction and national ground transportation options. Service began July, 15, 2014 with the 7:00 AM departure of the first bus, northbound to Grand Junction through Cortez, from the Durango Transit Center. Buses arrive in Grand Junction at 12:43 PM. The southbound bus departs the Greyhound Station in Grand Junction at 1:45 PM and arrives in Durango at 7:44 PM.
RRSL stops in the following communities on its north- and south-bound runs: Durango, Mancos, Cortez, Dolores, Rico, Telluride, Placerville, Ridgway, Montrose, Delta and Grand Junction. Specific times, schedules and ticket prices can be found at www.roadrunnerstagelines.com. The Denver-Durango trip can be completed in one day, in either direction, with no overnight stay in Grand Junction. One-way fares Durango-Denver range from $81-$108, depending on how tickets are purchased. One-way airfares Durango-Denver range from $253 to $396.
RRSL is a service of Road Runner Transportation, a program division of Southern Ute Community Action Programs, Inc. (SUCAP). The service is a partnership of SUCAP, the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) and Greyhound Lines, Inc.. The route is subsidized with federal funds in the amount of $286,000 for 2015. Since the start of service on July 15, 2014, through Monday, July 13, RRSL has carried 4,504 riders, and has completed 171,237 miles and 4,430 hours of service. The chart below shows where persons boarded and got off for the period of August 1, 2014 through July 13, 2015. (87 persons rode between July 15-31, 2014, but interim destination data was not collected that month.)
