National Safety Month (NSM) 2015 concluded on Thursday June 26, 2015. It was a successful month of promoting safety around the four weekly topics that included: Slips, Trips and Falls; Prescription Painkiller Abuse; Ergonomics and Emergency Preparedness. Materials provided in large by the National Safety Council and the Risk Management Division allowed for a display table to be up in the Leonard C. Burch Hall of Warriors all month long that included written education material to take home, a video display on the topics, Caught in the Act safety rewards and other materials. This year’s theme was centered around What I Live For. Some of the reasons people shared as to why they engage in safe behaviors and what they live for included:

Southern Ute Indian Tribe Annual Ladder Inspections were conducted on Friday June 26, 2015 at the Ute Park for all Permanent Fund and Southern Ute Housing Authority ladders. A total of seventy-five ladders were inspected from all over campus. The Risk Management Division teamed up with Matt Schmidt with Shur-Sales and Marketing Inc. from Englewood, CO to inspect ladder integrity to ensure that they were in good working condition and if not tagged and taken out of service. Thank you to everyone who took the time to gather and collect ladders to have them inspected.
