Promoting the Native REZ-olution Youth Concert XVI, Lectricide, a Metallica Tribute band from Albuquerque, N.M., performed on the REZ-olution Radio Hour on KSUT Tribal Radio float during the annual Southern Ute Tribal Fair Parade. Youth volunteers Catori and Adrienne Rock assisted in handing out candy, while Josh from the Lectricide team passed out concert handbills.

Native REZ-olution Youth Concert celebrates 16 years of music!

The Native REZ-olution Youth Concert featured Punk, Metalcore, Death Metal and heavy metal from bands, Dead Pioneers from Denver, Treaty from Shiprock, N.M., Inferno Antichrost from Pueblos of the San Felipe, Santa Clara Pueblos, Sacred Blood from Gallup, The Sovereign from Fort Thompson, S.D., Lectricide from Albuquerque, N.M., and Seeing Lions Seamlessly from Kirtland, N.M. The varied genres of metal brought the youth and community members to the Sky Ute Fairgrounds on Saturday, Sept. 12, for the 16th installment of the youth concert. The community event brings together tribal departments, community businesses, and the youth of Ignacio and surrounding communities of the Four Corners, culminating in an evening of music, safe, drug and alcohol free, “rezilience,” and support for all-ages of the community. KSUT Tribal Media Center and Native filmmakers, were on hand to film the youth concert, stay tuned for further details about a future release.
