Come out for a mural painting at the skatepark!

Come out for an exciting day of family fun! Tomorrow, Sept. 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Southern Ute Behavioral Health is sponsoring a day of fun at the Piinu Nuuchi Skatepark, featuring the painting of a large mural on the east wall of the park.

The new mural, designed by Southern Ute youth, will cover the 8 x 20-foot wall and addresses the question, “What does heritage and belonging mean to you?”

Starting from 9 a.m., kids are welcome to join in and help bring the mural to life. All paint, brushes, and other materials will be provided. Please come with sunscreen and hats in case the weather is quite warm.

Starting from noon, we will have skateboard decks for the first 30 kids to paint also! Lunch will be provided for the first 100 people. To keep the day upbeat and exciting, we are excited to welcome the (punk) bands The Blissins and The Illegal Aliens.

And last but not least, from 2 – 4 p.m. we will host a skating competition! Come join the fun and be one of the first to see this new, dazzling mural to grace one of the best skateparks in the region!

Supporting the youth of the community is a top priority of Southern Ute Behavioral Health and we’re excited to be able to foster healthy and fun activities, while youth get a chance to make the skatepark their own, one brush stroke at a time.

Here’s to your good health!
