Spotlight on Tribal Health: Henry Suneagle, Community Health Representative

My name is Henry Suneagle, I am a Community Health Representative (CHR) Dialysis Driver for Community & Home Health Services. In the early mornings before the sun comes up, I clock in for my first transport of the day; a duty I have been doing for over 16 years.

My winter morning routine is a mixture of clearing snow from vehicles and making sure they are warmed up for my fellow co-workers. During my mid-mornings, I schedule regular maintenance and oil changes for all the vehicles; a task I proudly have taken on without hesitation. I am well known for my pleasant, and respectful approach to everyone and for having a witty sense of humor as I break down barriers with my infectious laughter.

Being a CHR Dialysis Driver has its ups and downs. I have seen many clients pass during my 16 years as a CHR, a number that constantly inspires me to work hard for my clients who are still here. They are my top priority, and I work hard to make sure any treatment changes are known.

As a CHR Dialysis Driver I have built up this strong relationship with not only my clients, but with DaVita through my dedication. DaVita specializes in dialysis treatments for the end-stage of kidney disease. Dialysis is a medical treatment that removes waste products and excess fluid from the blood when the kidneys are unable to do so. These treatments cannot be missed and are required for the rest of your life, unless a kidney transplant becomes available.

You can usually spot me in the early mornings walking to work or in the midday walking home. I enjoy being outside and walking helps keep me young.
