A Fantastic Start to the Year!
As we settle into the first month of school, there has already been so much learning, growth, and fun happening throughout our program! Students and staff have jumped right into the school year, and everyone is working hard to make 2026-2027 a wonderful experience.
One of the biggest focuses this year has been student safety. New procedures and routines have been put into place to help ensure that every child is safe, supported, and ready to learn. Families, students, and staff have done a great job adjusting to these changes, helping create a positive and secure environment for all.
Infant Toddler News
Our youngest learners are settling into their daily routines and becoming more comfortable each day. Their schedules are filled with exciting activities including breakfast, recess, lunch, and of course, everyone’s favorite time of day … naps! The children are learning classroom routines and building friendships while exploring the world around them. We are also excited that swimming and Tumbling Tots will be starting soon, bringing even more opportunities for movement, fun, and development.
Primary Classroom Highlights
The Primary students have been busy every morning with circle time, learning new classroom expectations, and diving into exciting lessons. They also enjoy Ute Language instruction and Kindergarten PE. Students continue to work on transitioning smoothly throughout the day, especially during lunch and nap times. Kindergarten students are making great strides as they participate in afternoon learning activities and continue building important academic skills.
Elementary Excellence
Learning began on Day 1 for our elementary students, and they haven’t slowed down since! Students are now moving into more collaborative group work and are showing great teamwork skills in the classroom.
Each day begins at 8:10 a.m. with flag song and morning classroom routines. Then Reading Groups begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by Math Groups at 9:15 a.m., helping students strengthen their skills and grow as learners. Teachers report that students are working hard, asking great questions, and showing enthusiasm for learning.
Field Trip Fun!
A highlight of the month was the elementary field trip to Chapman Hill on September 4th. Students had a blast roller skating, practicing balance and coordination while spending time with classmates outside of the classroom. The smiles, laughter, and excitement made it a memorable day for everyone involved!
Looking Ahead
September is far from over! Students can look forward to additional field trips, special activities, and exciting learning opportunities throughout the month. As classrooms continue to establish routines and dive deeper into their studies, we know there will be many more accomplishments and adventures to celebrate.
