On Wednesday, Nov. 19, student film makers Philip Velasquez and John Oberly Jr., had a chance to debut their film “Speaking Ute.” After its viewing, the student took the opportunity for a Q&A session with Public Ed Teacher-High School ShaRay Rock. The film was in part about the struggles facing our youth and tribal language.
Twyla Blackbird is pictured with her father, Dr. Russell Blackbird, while he had a chance to speak with Education Director Joseph Claunch following the film debut on Wednesday, Nov. 19. Their discussion included some of the themes the movie addressed, and some of the ways those subjects might be mitigated.
