Youth of the Month
Our Youth of the Month focuses on acknowledging and making club members aware of their own unique character and abilities. As staff, we want to recognize them by their positive attributes seen in their club driven experience.
For this month of our Youth of the Month award goes to Jacinta Albo, and our Jr. Youth of the Month is Joaiden Hight!

BGC Announcement
Staff and Board members are busy planning for the Annual Boys & Girls Club Elk Hunt Raffle.
On Oct. 17 the Boys & Girls Club will host a “Building Great Futures Dinner,” this dinner is an appreciation for long time supporters of our Club.
BGC Shoutouts
Thank you to all those who donated prizes for our Elk Hunt Raffle. And to those employees of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe that donate to our club via payroll deductions.
BGC highlights
- Sept. 4 the Boys & Girls Club completed the Annual External Safety Assessment.
- Sept. 8 and 9 CEO Bruce LeClaire, Site Director Cassandra Sanchez and Behavioral Coordinator Lillianna Baker attended the Children’s Colorado Pediatric Mental Health Conference.
- Sept. 11 the Boys & Girls Club had a work session with Tribal Council to discuss new and updated policies.
- Sept. 13 The Boys & Girls Club had a float in the 103rd annual Southern Ute Tribal Fair Parade.
- Sept. 18 CEO Bruce LeClaire and Program Coordinator Nick Sanchez attended the Durango Workforce Open House.
Program Highlights
Two new cycles of Passport to Manhood and Smart Girls programming will begin for club members starting at 9-years-old.
Board highlights
Boys & Girls Club CEO and Board President will attend the Boys & Girls Clubs of Colorado Fall Area Council meeting on Oct. 9 and 10. There are currently three board vacancies (One tribal member and two community members).
