SUIMA appreciates Tribal Council

The Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy would like to thank the Tribal Council, the Executive Officer, and the SUIMA School Board for taking time to welcome the students back to school. With their support, we will have a year filled with growth in academics, independence, and Ute Language.

We’d also like to thank a few departments who have helped us get this school year off to a good start:

  • Clean Team for helping us get the rooms ready for the 2024-2025 school year.
  • Building Maintenance staff for taking care of summer repairs.
  • Grounds Maintenance for ensuring our grass is cut.
  • SUCCM for beginning a yearlong cultural collaboration with us.
  • Shining Mountain Health & Wellness for making sure our menus follow your guidelines.
  • Various parts of the IHS clinic for assisting with our student’s health.
  • SUPD Resource Officers for scheduling activities around safety.
  • Natural Resources (Agriculture) for the fresh beans, squash, and corn.
  • SunUte Community Center for always being available to our students.

What all of these departments have done for our students so far this school year, has not gone unnoticed – thank you!  We are very fortunate to have so many resources available and look forward to working with other Tribal and community resources soon.

The Southern Ute Tribal Fair is here!!   Many of the SUIMA students submitted exhibits for Tribal Fair and hope that everyone can go see their hard work.
