Ignacio Elementary hosts Empty Bowls

The “Empty Bowls” fundraiser drew community supporters, families and students to the Ignacio Elementary School for the annual event, Thursday, April 25. The special event helps raise funds for local families, food banks, and Heifer International, a national program offering food to help sustain families. Bread was donated by Jean Pierre of Durango and fresh tortillas were donated by Farmers Fresh in Ignacio. A silent auction helped raise funds. Between 350-400 bowls were created by the Ignacio Elementary and High School art students.
