Southern Ute Brave, Henry Elkriver Whiteskunk II visits the Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy–along with Southern Ute Brave Alternate Theoden Greany, Tuesday, Oct. 24 for a presentation on powwow and regalia. SUIMA Students attentively listen to Whiteskunk as he shares the significance of designs on his bustles which he uses to dance in the fancy category of powwow dancing.
Henry Whiteskunk shows a current project he is working to complete to the SUIMA students on Tuesday, Oct. 24 during the powwow presentation. Whiteskunk is the father of Southern Ute Brave, Henry Elkriver Whiteskunk II.
Southern Ute Brave Alternate, Theoden Greany and his mother Dominika Joy, present pieces of Greany’s regalia during the powwow presentation. The family also answered any questions the students may have regarding powwows and encouraged the students to continue to learn more about powwows.
