The Southern Ute Indian Montessori Academy closes out the school year with their annual field day, Friday, May 12 at SunUte Park. The day was filled with activities for the students to enjoy. Water pools supervised by SUIMA staff were filled by the Los Pinos Fire Dept. Firemen Ty Matthys and Ryan Mulay provided refreshing sprays of water from their water hose. A Bounce house provided by the family of Randall Litz, volleyball with over-sized balls manned by Tribal Information Services staff, face painting by Behavioral Health and an obstacle course by SunUte, as well as a parachute and other games. The students even participated in a one mile run along the Bear Trail. Sibrya Larry was the first student to finish the race. All activities were supervised by Southern Ute tribal staff, with a lunch provided by the SUIMA cook staff.
