The Multi-Cultural Committee has chosen Southern Ute tribal member Nate Hendren as the May Character Counts “Person of the Month.”

Nate represents the Responsibility pillar. He has been very respectful and responsible. He has been attending tutoring and working to receive good grades. He has been seen multiple times asking teachers about classroom assignments and grades. He stays on task and gets his work done and helps others stay on task and to be respectful. He greets guests who come into the building with care and respect.

Sierra Velasquez is Nate’s Mentor through the Mentor Program at the High School and wrote this about him: Nate is a great example of each six pillars of characters. Trustworthy, Respectful, Responsible, Caring, Fairness and Citizenship. Nate is very soft spoken, but once he opens up to you and shares his current projects, future ideas and plans in life … you learn fast what an amazing and smart young man he is.

Nate Hendren, keep up the good work, keep being you – you are going to go so far in life and accomplish so much! April was teacher Daven Reinhardt and June was assistant principal Shauna Branch.
