As we continue to stay as healthy as possible, thank you for wearing your face coverings, helping with the temperature checks, and keeping your son or daughter home if he/she is sick or if a family member is sick.
With Thanksgiving (kwiyutʉkamʉataghochi) behind us, SUIMA students are eagerly anticipating Christmas. The upper elementary students are organizing ways to bring holiday cheer to the school by doing random acts of kindness and planning activities during Holiday Spirit Week.
The Native American Heritage Honor Walk was held on Friday, November 19 – the turnout was phenomenal. The weather cooperated, the energy from the crowd was positive and all the students had a wonderful time.
Throughout the month of November, SUIMA encouraged all students, staff, families and departments to participate in wearing roses for the last week of Indigenous Month. Together, we have all shown our proud heritage by wearing traditional regalia, beaded necklaces, rockin’ our moc’s, enjoying our young drum group, participating in an awesome walk and wearing scarves and roses. Thank you everyone for showing your pride and supporting our students.
All progress reports have been sent out with our second trimester beginning on November 18.
