Ignacio School District hosts Veterans Program

Ignacio Girl Scout Troop #743, led by Dana Talamante, carried in the Colorado State flag and the Southern Ute Veterans Association flag was carried by Bruce Heller.

Ignacio Boy Scouts Troop #813, who carried in the American flag stand with Southern Ute veteran, Raymond Baker, who carried in the Southern Ute flag.

Ignacio High and Elementary School Choirs sang “America the Beautiful” as part of the Veterans Program.

Avionne Gomez read an original poem she penned, titled “We Stand” to the veterans, during the Veterans Program.

The Ignacio High School choir sing “God Bless America” as photos of community veterans were displayed in the background, closing out the Veterans Program.

The Ignacio High School District held a Veterans Program, “A Salute to Our Veterans” at the Ignacio High School, Wednesday, Nov. 8. The annual event featured guest speaker, Bob McPherson, a flag presentation by local Boys and Girls Scouts troops with Southern Ute Veterans, songs by the Ignacio Elementary and High School choirs and the Ignacio High School band.
