Fort Lewis Powwow Circle group asked for group participation in a two-step and round dance. Community members joined in for some dancing, sharing unity and Pride.

My name is Helaina Taylor introduces the Fort Lewis Powwow Circle members, left to right ; Holly Mangilinan, Sophia Tso-Paul, Helaina Taylor, and Naomi Bluehouse. The FLC Powwow Circle are a student led organization on Fort Lewis College Campus. Our mission is to provide a welcoming space for FLC students and community members to participate and learn about powwow dancing, build community, and connect through movement. We value respect, education, community, and cultural boundaries.

REZchella was spearheaded by Southern Ute tribal member, Trennie Burch and led by youth IOEA co-horts. Burch is the IOEA Executive Director and co-founder.
Brianna Henderson, the Suicide and Substance Use Prevention Coordinator for the Southern Ute Behavioral Health Division coordinated the Slime Run, bringing awareness to suicide prevention.

Youth co-horts lead REZchella 2026


REZchella, a youth-led community festival made it’s inaugural debut at the SunUte Park on Saturday, Sept. 19. The family-event brought community together for a food drive, music and a MMIR Mural reveal. The event was hosted by Ignacio Out and Equal Alliance (IOEA), spearheaded by Southern Ute tribal member, Trennie Burch with the help of IOEA volunteers and youth co-horts. Burch is the IOEA Executive Director and co-founder. The Southern Ute Behavioral Health Dept. hosted a Slime Run as part of REZchella, to bring awareness to suicide prevention.
