Irvin Casias is generously served a bowl of goulash by Ignacio School District Executive Secretary, Janet Reinhardt. The soups, stews, goulash and variety of red or green chiles were donated by parents and community members.
A few of the over 500 bowls created were on display to be purchased during the Fill Your Bowl event. 400 of the handcrafted bowls were created by students, with other bowls donated to the school. Ignacio Art Teacher, Lisa Brown said, “The event teaches kids how the community come together to support one another.”
SoCoCAA Finance Director, Cloe Jackson, picked a bowl with a turtle on it, saying "her niece is called turtle."
Windy Rock and her family enjoy the many soups and stews offered at the Fill Your Bowl fundraiser.
Ignacio Elementary Art Teacher, Lisa Brown holds one of the hundreds of bowls created by Ignacio school students for the Fill Your Bowl fundraiser. Funds are raised to purchase a heifer for the Heifer International Food Program. The heifer is then donated to a needy family.
