Fort Lewis College to showcase work of artist Halsey Berryman

Bird’s Eye View: Illustrations by Halsey Berryman

Halsey is a freelance illustrator who playfully comments on social and political issues through her digital illustrations. With a background in painting and a Fine Arts degree from Corcoran College of Art and Design, Halsey pushes her digital body of work to resemble that of traditional mediums. She uses her position as a successful illustrator to create aesthetically beautiful pieces that communicate larger ideas while maintaining connections with corporate and individual clients.

In this body of work, she focuses on anthropomorphizing birds to symbolize the grotesque behavior of humans. Using her artistic agency, Halsey employs maximalist strategies to enhance her imagery with vibrant colors and enticing compositions. Her level of detail and technical skill allow her work to be appreciated by artists and onlookers alike.

We welcome Halsey to present her first-ever gallery exhibition here at Fort Lewis College’s Art Gallery; Bird’s Eye View: Illustrations by Halsey Berryman, Thursday, Oct. 17 – Thursday, Nov. 21.

Artist Talk: Wednesday, Oct. 16, 3:30 p.m., Lyceum Auditorium, Center of Southwest Studies. Opening Reception: Thursday, Oct. 17, 4:30 – 6 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served at the opening reception.
