The Cultural Preservation Department hosted a shawl making class on Tuesday, April 25 and Wednesday, April 26 at the Southern Ute Cultural Center and Museum. This class was held in preparation for the upcoming Bear Dance season, attendees are provided with the materials needed for shawls to be worn during the event. During the class, attendees learned to hem and fringe their shawls.
Cultural Education Coordinator, Izabella Cloud instructs attendees in adding fringe to their shawls during the classes, Cloud also gave instructions on how to hem the fabric, how to operate sewing machines, and gave her best tips for making a shawl.
