The 99th Annual Southern Ute Tribal Fair Powwow brought hundreds of contestants, several fried food stands and a tent full of laughter to the new location in front of the Sky Ute Casino Resort. Drum groups, dancers and families filled the event tent for the three-day event, kicking off on Friday, Sept. 13 – Sunday, Sept. 15. Welcoming back Miss Southern Ute, Jazmine Carmenoros and Jr. Miss Southern Ute, Autumn Sage for a second term; the royalty committee also crowned Little Miss Southern Ute, Shayne White Thunder and Southern Ute Brave Andre Baker-Bluestar during Friday night’s coronation ceremony.
