Three vie for royalty titles

Finishing out the pageant, all three-royalty contestants showcased their dancing skills.
Talia Whyte, Miss Ute Mountain gives Southern Ute Royalty contestants some words of encouragement during this year’s Royalty Pageant on Tuesday, Aug. 30. Miss Hozhoni, Ferrari Arviso; and Miss Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial Queen, Lindsay Paige Sandoval also spoke to contestants.
Tribal elder, Dixie Naranjo was the guest speaker at this year’s pageant. Naranjo talked about her days as rodeo queen and the importance lessons it taught her about respect and responsibility.
