On Thursday, May 12, Southern Ute tribal elder Russell Box Sr. spoke to guests at the Ignacio Public Library about the history of the Bear Dance. He discussed the proper guidelines and etiquette when attending the dance while answering questions about the dance’s importance to the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.
