The Southern Ute Museum (SUCCM) will be featuring The Fast Runner (Atanarjuat) a 2001 film by Zacharias Kunuk (Inuit or Eskimo) that could very well be entitled The Frozen North. It is an all Inuit cast in their native language and the winner of the 2001 Cannes International Film Festival’s Camera d’Or for best feature. This film is set in the distant and mysterious past with austere frozen beauty, violence and retribution, humor and sensuality. Showing Saturday Nov. 8 at 1:30 p.m. SUCCM will wrap up this film season with Cowboys & Aliens a 2011 film by Jon Favreau, starring Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford that could be entitled Galactic Showdown. This film is set in 1875 New Mexico Territory and involves aliens vs. cowboys, townsfolk, outlaws and a tribe of very ticked-off Apaches. The antagonists are in dispute over two very valuable treasures, you decide which is the more important. See you for the final curtain on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 1:30 p.m.
