Visiting drum groups filled the Ute Mountain Ute Bear Dance Powwow with their songs for all to enjoy on Friday, June 5 and Saturday, June 6 in Towaoc, Colo. Spectators gathered around the drum to hear the song during an intertribal session.
Miss NCI Powwow Princess, Leandra Litz is joined by Miss Southern Ute, Autumn Sage and Jr. Miss Southern Ute, Shayne White Thunder during an intertribal on Saturday, June 6. The trio attended the Ute Mountain Ute Bear Dance Powwow in Towaoc, representing their individual titles and organizations.
Women’s jingle dress dancers graced the arena on Saturday, June 6 for adult competitions at the Ute Mountain Ute Bear Dance Powwow. The event coincided with the 137th Ute Mountain Ute Bear Dance celebration, offering another activity for all who were visiting Towaoc that weekend.
Southern Ute tribal member and Southern Ute Brave, Theoden Greany, danced a few intertribal’s on Saturday evening – practicing moves and dancing alongside friends at the Ute Mountain Ute Bear Dance Powwow.
