The Chieftain Pit in Shiprock, N.M. was full of dancers and spectators for a powwow honoring Miss Indian World Kassie John on Saturday, July 20. The powwow was run by the Office of the First Lady, Jasmine Black-Water Nygren. The title of Miss Indian World has not been brought home to the Navajo Nation in 10 years.
