10 years ago: During the 2005 Southern Ute Tribal Fair PowWow, the GoodTracks family sponsored a special Ute Womens’ Traditional Dance Contest in the memory of Shirley Goodtracks. Six places were awarded to the contest who had to be enrolled in any of the Southern Ute, Northern Ute and Ute Mountain Tribes. 20 years ago: Bountiful Harvest. La Titia Taylor, Agricultural Extension Agent for the tribe, checks out the garden she and her summer JTPA workers planted this spring. 30 years ago: New Miss Southern Ute banner was placed on Lucinda Cloud by Tribal Chairman Chris Baker. The new royalties received bouquets of roses , new banners and new shawls.
