NAYO Thanks

Ignacio High School Native American Youth Organization (NAYO) recently took a trip to Denver to experience the 2014 Denver March Powwow. A handful of NAYO students spent the weekend experiencing all that the Denver March Powwow had to offer. Not only were the students immersed in the dancing, music, storytelling and arts, but they also shared in many unforgettable memories. Throughout the weekend students were able to visit the state capitol and meet Lieutenant Governor Joseph Garcia, ALL attended their first professional hockey game and at the powwow they also met a couple of influential women, Miss Indian World Kansas Begaye and Tonia Jo Hall! This was an unforgettable experience!

A big THANK YOU to Ignacio High School staff and student body, SunUte Community Center, Naomi Russell and the WILDCATS, Caitlin Garcia, Dr. Rocco Fuschetto and Kenneth Frost. We appreciate all your support, can’t wait for next year!
