Crack sealing operations continue on CO Highway 172 near Airport Road (La Plata County Road 309). On Thursday and Friday, travelers will encounter full stops, one-lane alternating traffic guided by portable light signals. The stop points and signals will be located on CO 172 on either side of the Airport Road junction, at mile points 18.5 and 19.5. Motorists must obey the light signal cycle for the safety of traffic flow and crews working on the roadway.

Motorists traveling from the airport turning off of Airport Road onto CO 172 will be guided by flagging personnel.

Work will continue to take place, weather permitting, over the next few weeks, Mon.- Fri. from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Drivers will encounter full stops and lane closures. Up to 15-minute delays are anticipated. Travelers, especially those going to the airport, should allow themselves extra travel time. A speed reduction of 40 MPH will be in place and drivers should slow down and use extreme caution when approaching and driving through the work zone. Motorists are urged to be aware of crews and heavy equipment.
