U.S. Bowling Congress Association inducts first local Hall of Fame class

The U.S. Bowling Congress Association inducted its first La Plata County Hall of Fame class in a ceremony Aug. 18 at the Sky Ute Casino Resort.

The Hall of Fame includes categories for youths’ superior performance on the lanes, women’s dedicated service and superior performance on the lanes, and men’s dedicated service and superior performance on the lanes.

The Hall of Fame Committee met and, after many meetings, recommended the finalists to the board of directors for final approval. The board voted unanimously on all candidates to be inducted into the first annual La Plata County Hall of Fame.

Following are the inductees:

  • Ronald J. Johnson III, youth excellence on the lanes
  • Greg Allen, men’s excellence on the lanes
  • Dean Hudson, men’s excellence on the lanes
  • Janey Silver, women’s excellence on the lanes
  • Jan Wesley, women’s excellence on the lanes
  • Jim Akin, men’s dedicated service
  • Louise White, women’s dedicated service
  • Jennifer Robinson Perry, women’s dedicated service
