On Wednesday Sept. 24, Native American Sacred Trees and Places (NASTaP) held a memorial service for past NASTaP President Dr. James Jefferson in Black Forrest located in Colorado Springs. There was a plaque placed by the Grandfather Tree, and a blessing done by Dan Clarke of Towaoc, Colo.
During the Southern Ute Tribal Fair parade on Saturday Sept. 13, Dr. James Mitchell Jefferson was honored as the Honorary Grand Marshall with a banner with photos of Dr. Jefferson following the Color Guard.
