10 Years Ago: The 3rd Annual Velasquez Football Camp was held Thursday and Friday, July 21 and 22nd at the SunUte Multi-Purpose field. Ignacio Junior High football coach Abel Velasquez Sr., coach Roger Mestas and Gus Velasquez coached a group of approximately thirty boys. 20 Years Ago: Deltarado days “Tribute To the Utes” Grand Marshall’s: Alden Naranjo and Dorothy Naranjo/So. Utes, Juanita Wall and Lisa Manning/Ute Mtn. Utes. They are part of the Council Tree Powwow Committee. Also invited were Miss Southern Ute, Twyla Blackbird and Jr. Miss, Angelina Vicenti. Kartrina Naranjo also rode in the parade.
