The National Museum of the American Indian was asked by the U.S. Congress to create a National Native American Veterans Memorial. Currently, NMAI staff are consulting with various Tribes, traveling to reservations, and reaching out to Native American veterans, to get their input on this specific memorial honoring their service. NMAI staff would like to invite all Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Veterans, immediate family members of veterans who have passed on, and Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute artists to attend a consultation on Friday, April 28^th, 2017 from 9 AM until 12 PM at the SunUte Community Center – Mouache and Capote Rooms.
