The Native American Youth Organization (NAYO) of the Ignacio High School held a Car Bash, Thursday, April 9 in an empty lot in downtown Ignacio. The event was held to raise funds so the NAYO class could make a trip to this year’s Gathering of Nations Powwow in Albuquerque, NM.
Safety first, Andre Thompson, sporting safety glasses, uses a bat to dismantle a rear taillight of the car.
Bird Red was the first to take a swing at the car, which took many hits from bats, and sledgehammers. The NAYO club raised over $400 to help fund the club to travel to Gathering of Nations this year.
