Another school year has come and gone
Looking back, we had 86 students enrolled with 45 being Southern Ute tribal members and 41 being first generation, direct descendants. Of these students, we had five infants, 10 toddlers, 29 Pre-K, 10 kindergarteners, 13 first graders, six second graders, five third graders, four fourth graders, three fifth graders and one sixth grader.
We collaborated and worked with several tribal departments – probably all of them in one way or another. We had amazing parents who volunteered on field trips, came to our events and activities, and offered to help with anything that was needed.
SUIMA was the recipient of some grants and contributions with funds going to classroom materials, a national conference, and upgrades to the playgrounds.
Our Parent Advisory Group and Family Night events were well attended as was Field Day and the Music, Art and Poetry Slam. A big thank you goes out to the students, families, departments and staff who helped make this a productive and successful year.
Our first day of school for the 2025-2026 school year will be Monday, Aug. 25.
