Bobcat Gridders getting five home games

Both Bobcats were named First Team All-Southern Peaks for 2017, with Cundiff also earning Defensive Player-of-the-Year and Lovelace Offensive Player-of-the-Year in the Bobcats’ own team recognitions.

Cundiff heads All-SPC Football picks

The final game for the Durango Demons third grade youth football team ends with the customary congratulations from against the Farmington Herd, Saturday, Oct. 28 in Aztec, NM. Demons face defeat in semi’s

The Bayfield Wolverines, playing in the fourth grade division against the Aztec Apes for the championship, Saturday, Nov. 4. Bayfield Wolverines’ Tavian Box (99) carries the ball in action against the Apes. Bayfield defeated the Farmington Panthers to advance to the Superbowl, however ended up losing to the Aztec Apes, 20-27.

YAFL 2nd graders take division

A real good feeling on the inside,” Archuleta said.  IHS would ultimately force six turnovers in a 35-14 victory.

Youth ballers, winning!

Swarming Montezuma-Cortez receiver Vincent Conklin (6), Ignacio’s Dustin Sanchez (24), Natoni Cundiff (72) and Marcus Chapman (10) converge for a tackle during the Bobcats’ Homecoming Week game, Friday, Sept. 15 at IHS Field.  The run/pass-balanced 2A Panthers prevailed 38-14, though 1A IHS scored the contest’s first and last touchdowns.

Pounded in Pagosa, Bobcats dip to 1-3 overall

All told, Ignacio’s defense came up with two fumble recoveries, one interception and forced four turnovers-on-downs in the 13-6 victory—an effort surely to be desired again by the coaching staff with 2A Montezuma-Cortez in town for the Sept.15 Homecoming Week game, with kickoff at 7 p.m.

Ignacio Football seniors Dalton Labarthe (77) and Timmy Plehinger-Williams (86) share a quick comment on a coach’s comment, as senior Zach Weinreich (11) applauds near the end of the Bobcats’ end-of-season banquet/ceremony Thursday, Nov. 17. Labarthe was named Second Team All-SPC in 2016 while Plehinger-Williams and Weinreich were named First Team. All seniors received – if possible – their jersey from the 2015 season, as well as a framed commemorative photo layout.
