Southern Ute Tribal Council members, Lorelei Cloud and Adam Red welcome attendees to the Southern Ute Reservation for the 2018 Cow Elk Hunt.

Southern Ute tribal member Jonas Nanaeto was among those who won raffle prizes during the Cow Elk Hunt orientation on Friday, Jan. 5 at the Sky Ute Casino Resort.

The cow elk hunt is open to members of other Native American tribes, however Southern Ute ‘first descendants’ and Southern Ute tribal members can participate. The hunt took place from Jan. 6-14 on the Southern Ute Reservation and was limited to cow elk.
