Vietnam veteran Rod Grove gives thanks to attendees in the Southern Ute veterans Memorial Park during the anniversary service for the memorial, which recognizes Vietnam Veterans. Grove was instrumental in helping to bring a section of the Moving Wall to Ignacio twenty years ago.

Members of the Southern Ute Veterans Association gathered in the Southern Ute veterans Memorial park to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall, which made it’s way to Ignacio exactly two decades ago. Southern Ute Veterans, Raymond Baker and Howard Richards Sr. give thanks to Ute Mountain Ute Veteran, Terry Knight for his participation in the event, which honored Vietnam Veterans on Monday, Sept. 11. The colors of the Vietnam service ribbon were on display in the form of a wreath. The gathering also paid respect those whose lives were lost on 9/11.
