KSUT just finished up their on-air “Hit it & Quit it” Fall Membership Drive Friday, Sept. 16.

The Fall Membership Drive has been running since August 25 with the goal of raising $75,000. The station hosts these membership drives throughout the year to help raise money for internal operations and programming, such as NPR, which costs around $340 a day to air.

KSUT pushes hard during these membership drives and is thankful for all the support they receive locally. Local businesses and individuals go out of their way to help KSUT by donating food, providing gifts to give away and pledging contributions.

KSUT continues to provide programming and music listeners love to hear all while promoting local businesses. In turn, membership contributions help support the station.

“Everyone is helping everyone,” Gram Wohlust, KSUT membership/development associate said.

One local Ignacio business, Roots Natural Foods, has been loyal supporter of the station for a long time, especially during fund drives, Sheila Nanaeto Tribal Radio station manager said.

“They’re such a big supporter and they’re always providing us one of the best meals during the [drive],” Nanaeto said.

Owner of Roots Natural Foods, Jeff Ogden said it’s easy to support KSUT because the station is local and plays an integral role in getting information out to the community.

“We support the station monetarily and with food,” Ogden said. “We play KSUT in the store all day. They’re local and I think they’re an asset to our community … we value [KSUT] and they value us.”
