Women’s Wellness & Cancer Prevention luncheon

Luncheon set for Feb. 28

The second of a four class series of women’s wellness/cancer prevention luncheons will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at the Sun Ute Community Center from noon to 1 p.m.

This class will again focus on the importance of preventive breast and cervical screenings. Since our physical, spiritual, and mental well-being contributes to the prevention of disease, we have invited an honorary guest and speaker, Elaine Newton. She will be addressing aromatherapy and how this can contribute to relaxation and wellness.

This will be a hands-on class and fun for all! Please join us for a healthy lunch and informative hour!

Also, please don’t forget to schedule your Pap smear and mammogram! Please ask your provider about these screenings when you see them. Gift certificates are being given to women aged 21 to 65 who get their pap smears at Southern Ute Health Center. Rewards for completing your mammograms are being given for those women 40 to 65 years of age. Mammogram parties are also being offered to women who would like to go in a small group for a mammogram and lunch.

REMEMBER, THE KEY TO PREVENTION IS SCREENING!

If you have questions or would like assistance in scheduling a screening or signing up for a mammogram party don’t hesitate to call Susan Turner at 970-563-2363 or Devon Davalos at 970-563-2347. We can also help refer you if you do not have insurance to cover these screenings. Please join us on Tuesday, Feb. 28!
