The unveiling was done by artist Tim Murphy, Ignacio Board of Trustees member Edward Box III, Ignacio Mayor Stella Cox and artist Justin Montgomery.
Artists who contributed to the final mural are (l-r): Morgan Hansen, Veronica Cousens, Justin Montgomery, and Michael Garcia, who were introduced by lead artist, Tim Murphy.
The mural depicts choosing your own path and owning it. The painting was started back in June and worked on in the ELHI building.
Boys & Girls Club (BGC) of the Southern Ute Tribe Board and Club members proudly pose in front of the mural with Southern Ute Councilman Tyson Thompson, Ex-Officio for BGC, Cassie Correia of the Dancing Spirit Art Gallery and Pat Senecal Celebrating Healthy Communities (far left) who gave the project overview.
Ignacio High School students, Allisianna Baker (left) and Avionne Gomez spoke of their involvement in the initial design concept for the mural, Kai Roubideaux (not pictured) was also part of the youth perspective student group.

Unveiling ‘Own Your Path’ mural


In grand fashion, the unveiling of the ‘Own Your Path’ mural was debuted to the public on Friday, Aug. 12. The mural is on the south wall of the Ignacio Floral building. The mural depicts choosing your own path.
