Mique,

My name is Dominick GoodTracks and I am the 2017-18 Southern Ute Brave. I am 10 years old and the son of Kalin GoodTracks and the late Tiffany Box Howe. I am also the great nephew of Jennifer GoodTracks and Gary Alires. My paternal grandparents are Robb GoodTracks and Wilinda Price. My maternal grandparents are the late Paula Howe, Don Howe and Tilman Box. The following are events that I have attended:

September 2017:

I was honored to be announced as the new Southern Ute Brave and attended the Southern Ute Tribal Fair Powwow.

Helped serve the Royalty dinner during the Southern Ute Fair and I rode in the fair parade.

Attended the event called Sip, Chat, Chew and ate with the Ute elders at the multipurpose.

Participated with my fellow royalty and we had a booth at the Ignacio Community 10 year anniversary party.

Attended the Southern Ute Tribal Annual Back-to-School BBQ.

October 2017:

Participated in the Durango Cowboy Poetry Gathering Parade.

I and my fellow Southern Ute royalties had a Halloween booth at the Halloween Carnival at Sky Ute Casino.

November 2017:

I attended the opening ceremony for the Youth Bull Riding Finals held at the Sky Ute Casino Resort.

Southern Ute Royalties sponsored a Thanksgiving Walk for the community and we hope this will become an annual event. For our Southern Ute Thanksgiving dinner, I shook hands with tribal members and guests.

I traveled to Ft. Duchesne and participated in the Northern Ute Thanksgiving Powwow.

December 2017:

It was fun to participate in the Leonard C. Burch memorial walk.

I attended the End of Term Reception for Councilwoman Amy Barry and Chairman Clement Frost and the inauguration for newly elected Council members Cheryl Frost, Cedric Chavez and Chairman Christine Sage.

Lastly I attended our Southern Ute Christmas dinner and shook hands with members of all three Ute Tribes and guests. For the Christmas program I sang a Christmas song in Ute with Little Miss Southern Ute and Junior Miss Southern Ute.

So far I have enjoyed attending different events and traveling to represent the Southern Ute Tribe and meeting new people. I look forward to attending upcoming events and learning new things along the way.

Tog’oiak’
